Lisa Williams-Thompson

Lisa Williams-Thompson is proud to serve as principal of Stilwell Elementary, where she is honored to support a strong school community rooted in care, connection, and growth. This marks her eighth year working in the Blue Valley School District and her 28th year as a school leader. Williams-Thompson remains committed to building a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can learn, grow, and discover the best in themselves and others through positive relationships.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Kansas State University, a master’s degree in multicultural education from Webster University, and a second master’s degree in educational administration from Emporia State University. As a lifelong learner, she brings a passion for teaching and leading, and she believes student learning and safety should be at the center of every decision.

Williams-Thompson is dedicated to fostering a school culture that values collaboration, encourages innovation, and empowers educators. She supports her staff by focusing professional learning communities on student achievement and best instructional practices, while promoting leadership throughout the building. She believes in redefining the classroom experience with meaningful use of technology to inspire student engagement.

Known for being visible and actively involved in daily school life, Williams-Thompson prioritizes strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families and communicates with integrity, empathy, and consistency. Guided by the mission and shared values of the Stilwell community, she is committed to ensuring each student feels confident, capable, and cared for—every day.
